WWE fans will be happy to know that the Wild Card rule will probably be coming to an end in the 2019 fall. The company goes back to reinforcing the brand split once Smackdown makes its big switch to the FOX Sports Network from the current home of WWE programming, USA Network. It will be happening on October 4th presenting the 20th anniversary of the show, as well.

But there are questions running all over the internet predicting whether the Wild Card Rule will be in full effect or not. This is the same rule where WWE allowed up to four wrestlers to appear on the opposing brand’s show by invitation for one night only. However, we barely witnessed WWE maintaining those rules in recent times making a complete joke out of the rule.

Also, the much-hyped brand split went in vain as Raw and Smackdown literally became one single parallel brand, altogether. This was a desperate move from Vince McMahon and Co. to pull up the TV ratings for the post-Wrestlemania season. They have found initial success in doing so but the fans did not like the idea, at all for some obvious reasons.
The brand split between Raw and Smackdown was intact so to give more TV time to the mid-card superstars. With the main-eventers appearing on both the show, the talents no more get the spotlight, they deserve. Thankfully, this tradition is coming to an end, real quick. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, via NoDQ, the brand split comes into full effect later this year once SmackDown Live moves to Fox, bringing an end to the Wild Card Rule.

Here is what the veteran pro-wrestling journalist has said over the Raw & Smackdown separation issue,
“I was told hard split after the first week [of October] because the first SmackDown show everyone will be on and then after that, it’s supposed to be a hard split. Look, everything changes based on Vince’s whims.”
Wild Card rule has been a reported reason which ruined the Women’s Tag Team division, as the champions could barely defend the titles due to lack of storyline booking. Probably keeping these in mind, FOX officials also want the barrier between Raw and Smackdown to be intact from October onwards. We hope this report finally becomes true as the red and blue brand goes fully separate.
