When Braun Strowman first entered the WWE scene, he was a sure-shot future champion in the company. Vince McMahon also witnessed this man as the future show-runner of the Monday Night Raw brand who received a huge push. He eventually landed on the main event scene only to get vanquished. Now he does not even feature in the mid-card title picture which is really strange.

So what could exactly be the reason behind WWE stopping the push for Braun Strowman? Apparently, he, himself is the man to blame for. His lack of responsibility in the locker room and casual behavior failed to impress the officials. They agreed that the monster among men could not be a champion aka a representative of the brand. So the potential push to actually gain the championship never came to fruition.
Mike Johnson opened up on PW Insider Elite Audio about how Vince McMahon sees Braun Strowman nowadays. After failing to the acid tests of WWE to become a top superstar in the company, he’s become an ordinary man just like the other mid-carders on the roster. To be specific the source added that McMahon sees him as a ‘walking mascot’. The man in concern knows this very well and trying his best to become relevant, once again.
For now, check out Johnson’s illustrated words,
“There have been times when Vince was ready to pull the trigger and then something happens behind the scenes just by the way Braun Strowman carries himself or maybe he’s a little late or just at times that he’s his own worst enemy with how he presents himself and Vince takes a step backward.”
“I just think he’s at the point now where Vince sees him as a walking mascot for the company more than he sees him as a top guy. So he’s kinda like a modern-day 911 for ECW vs being seen as a franchise player for the company.”
We ought to note that Braun Strowman became the number one contender for the Universal Championship on two occasions. Both the times, he was in unstoppable mode during the push who came up short against Brock Lesnar. In the third opportunity at Royal Rumble 2018, he remained unpinned but could not pick up the title. From this point onwards, his career graph went downwards.
Otherwise, it’s hard to believe that a strong name like him could not successfully cash in the Money in the Bank contract briefcase and lost the title match against Roman Reigns. Also, at Wrestlemania 35, WWE booked him to win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal which did not help his career, at all. At present, Braun Strowman is still to find out an opponent for the post-Mania season. He is likely to compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match.
