Kofi Kingston fans should not be worried at all after what happened on this past week’s episode of Smackdown. It was really disgusting to see how Vince McMahon removed this man from an earned WWE Championship opportunity. But if the recent reports are to go by then much bigger plans are waiting for him as Wrestlemania season approaches. He will soon be back at the main event picture creating history, perhaps.
Heel-turn coming to set up a Wrestlemania match
Revealed: Roman Reigns Wrestlemania opponent
As noted by Slice Wrestling, there’s a big reason as to why WWE removed Kofi Kingston from Fastlane WWE Championship match. They wanted to keep him as the number one contender for the prime title for Wrestlemania 35. As we have seen in the recent past, the WWE Universe wanted this match to happen at the biggest event of the year. Well, the WWE creative team is giving it a thought for real.
There are more reasons why Vince McMahon might be willing to go with the idea of making Kofi Kingston as the WWE Champion. This will be the first time in WWE history that we will see a black WWE title-holder that would be a revolutionary idea. Also, this could give a push to the merchandise selling, going forward, (via wwfoldschool.com)
“The Dirty Sheets reported that Vince McMahon is now seriously considering putting the WWE Championship on Kofi Kingston after WWE’s marketing department pitched an idea about how WWE could recycle numerous New Day merchandise items solely for Kofi Kingston and this could turn Kofi into a big time merchandise seller if WWE puts the Title on him.”
If these reports are not enough then the booking for WWE Live event is also suggesting the same. Currently, a Minnesota show is showing the lineup for WWE Championship following Wrestlemania 35. It is showing a triple threat main event match featuring Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, and Kofi Kingston. It does mean that the Dreadlocked Dynamo of the WWE is moving nowhere from the WWE Championship picture.

Also, Kofi Kingston himself delivered a heartfelt message to his fans who were really expecting him competing in a WWE Championship match. It was really devastating for him to get out of the biggest match of his career. But he is not backing down anyway. He expects to rise soon overcoming the obstacles,
“It’s also Xavier Wood’s journey and Big E’s journey. It’s every one of you who have followed and supported my career for the past 11 Years. To have it all stripped away so suddenly is painful, to put it mildly. I appreciate you all more than you know, and I want to thank you all for your love and support. Mark my words we will be back. The journey does not end here”
