WWE News: Reason Behind Goldberg-Lesnar’s Quick Finish At Survivor Series 1

Survivor Series left the entire pro-wrestling fraternity with a shock. The man who returned to the squared circle after a long gap of 12 years did not show a sign of ring rust, at all. Or, should we say that he was no allowed to show it since it would have created more fall-out that now? Whatever it is, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar in the most dominant way possible which left the WWE fans with plenty of questions regarding WWE booking.
The shocking booking saw a match of 1minute and 26 seconds since the bell rang. Goldberg connected with two spears following with one jackhammer to finish it. Along with that, Brock Lesnar’s dominant streak of past 4 years was also vanquished. According to the recent reports, a number of factors are the reason for this.
First of all, Goldberg was not fit enough to compete in a full-length match against the reckless machine that Brock Lesnar is. In addition to it, during the face to face confrontation between the two on last week’s Monday Night Raw, Goldberg had to shove off the security guards off the ring. During that physical encounter, he had tweaked his shoulder. Prior to the match, the Myth himself acknowledged the same.

Plus, it is must to mention that Goldberg signed the contract with WWE just a month earlier. The negotiations started to result positive outcome the same week when he made his return on Raw prior to Hell in a Cell. That gave him only one month to get ready for the match which was not enough for a man returning to the ring after 12 long years.

Also, by this win WWE wanted to push him towards the Royal Rumble PPV. He agreed to take his career fast forward with the company after this win. The planning was made just days before the match. This is the reason Goldberg tweeted it out hinting what’s coming in the future. His appearance at the Royal Rumble PPV will certainly be a boost to the ticket selling for WWE.
