The WWE Universe was stunned with many debuts from NXT roster on this past edition of both Raw and Smackdown. On the flagship show, it was Paige who returned with a couple of names under her wings from the developmental territory. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were accompanying her to beat up some of the women from the Raw female roster creating a new stable.
The same happened on the very next night on Smackdown Live, too. This time around, the former contender for the NXT Women’s Championship, Ruby Riot was the leader of newly created faction on the show. Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan were the two other names in this group who showed up to beat up a few names from the women’s division of Smackdown Live.
The fans loved to see this sudden change in the women’s division. But, at the same time, there were some questions around their mind, as of why WWE would pick these many names to insert into the women’s division from NXT?
A report from Pro-wrestling Sheet was able to throw some lights on it. It said the decision was made by Vince McMahon himself. The Boss thought the female roster on both Raw and Smackdown were getting stale. Hence, these fresh inclusions would make things a bit interesting, going forward.
Some of the fans although complained about the chosen names. They do feel there were other names which were more than ready to make their presence felt on the main roster. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are the front-runners on the list.
However, reports from The 434 Facebook page suggested the creative team has chosen only those names who were not being used in the protagonist’s role on the NXT roster. They can prove their relevance upon coming to the big league. But then again, the existing names should have been strengthened before the NXT call-ups.
But, the positive side for these inclusions is that WWE will be able to create a tag team division or plan a Royal Rumble match featuring the women superstars shortly. These have been in the works for a long time now.
