Braun Strowman has recently transformed into a heel on WWE Raw. It came as an utter surprise, as he was the hottest thing on the flagship show. WWE Universe loved how this monster portrays his persona. He has already solidified his name as the new resident monster of the business filling up the boots of Big Show and Mark Henry.
Most of the people thought of a big push for Braun Strowman on WWE Raw following his MITB contract win. It guarantees to become the new Universal Champion at one point. Being the destructive force, it’s almost certain; he will pick up the title, sooner. But that might not be the case if current rumours are to get considered.
Roman Reigns had successfully defended his championship against Braun Strowman at Hell in a Cell. The latter one cashed in his contract inside the steel cage structure. It turned out to be an odd situation for the challenger. Mostly, the contract holder waits for a segment where the champions remain down after a gruelling match. It creates a golden opportunity for him to win the title in just a matter of moments.
But Braun Strowman gave up on such a situation. He looked forward to challenging Roman Reigns in a face-to-face match. It turned out to be a disastrous decision for him, as Brock Lesnar showed up. Speculations suggest WWE creative team is going for a lengthy title reign for The Big Dog at this point. So the champion retaining his title at Hell in a Cell was evident to happen.
It will portray Roman Reigns as a strong Universal Champion on WWE Raw. But Braun Strowman would lose his significance with this loss. Cagesideseats.com reported officials are afraid that it could hurt his strong character, going forward. So turning him heel on the roster seemed evident for them. Fans might not like the decision, but they have no other choice.
The officials will also get a strong heel on the WWE Raw roster that was much-needed. There are less of villainous guys on the flagship show for now. Kevin Owens seems the only other bonafide heel on the roster, for now.
We did not get Dean Ambrose’s heel turn as well. It has left a big void in creating proper challenges for Roman Reigns except for the combined resistance from Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. Braun Strowman would be a smart choice to fill up the void aligning with these two.
