WWE News: Reason Why Braun Strowman Was Not Present On This Past Episode Of Raw
It was quite a surprise not seeing Braun Strowman on this past edition of Raw. At this time, he is the new number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship. He will lock horns against none other than Brock Lesnar at the main event of the No Mercy PPV on September 24th.
Plus, Strowman is untouchable at this moment who manhandled the beast incarnate at Summerslam and the night after on Raw. No one has been able to dismantle the Conqueror as he did in recent times. This is the reason why Paul Heyman also acknowledged that Strowman might be that guy that should dethrone the champion at the next Raw-exclusive PPV.
It was expected that Brock Lesnar would be appearing on Raw to seek his redemption on the contender for the beatdown he delivered, last week. But, in a surprising turn of events. Strowman was not even on the show. Lesnar just gave a short promo before walking away from the ring.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Live, the main reason to do so was to keep away Lesnar and Strowman from each other, for now. This will maintain the anticipation at its peak point when the PPV finally arrives, and these two behemoths go to war.
Previously, reports from wrestlezone.com suggested that WWE has come up with the idea of the match to make the No Mercy PPV, a sell-out. This one PPV is considered to be a B-grade PPV in WWE’s calendar. But, this year, it will emanate from one of the biggest venues in the USA that is the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
So, the officials did not want to let this event go with a lackluster planning. This is also why the match between John Cena and Roman Reigns was also included on the match card. But, the main attraction is surely going to be whether Braun Strowman will be able to dominate the champion, once again, or not.
For now, there’s nothing more mouth-watering bout than this one. The WWE Universe wanted to see this fight happen for a long time, now. So, it is quite understandable why the company intends to have a minimal physical interaction between these two. This is also a good use of the champion, as well within the limited appearances that he has in the entire year.
