WWE News: Reason Why Hardy Boyz Is Not Using The Broken Gimmick In The WWE 1

The crowd literally erupted after the Hardy Boyz was back at Wrestlemania 33. The rumours of them coming home started filling in days prior to the grandest event of the year.

Ever since they were released from their Impact wrestling contract, they intended to come back to the pinnacle of the sports entertainment and did in a big way by winning the Raw tag team championships.

There were also questions whether they would be using the ‘Broken’ gimmick outside the Impact wrestling promotion. This was an original innovation for the betterment of the Hardyz in 2016. The right of this gimmick belonged to the formerly known TNA and hence there were doubts whether they would allow them to do so.

Quite expectedly, the owners of Impact wrestling barred them from using it. After, Matt Hardy claimed that it belonged to him particularly and not Impact Wrestling, a legal war broke out between the two parties.

Later, Reby Hardy let us knew on Twitter that the battle was won by Hardy. The court clarified that the Hardyz has rights to claim the gimmick since they have filed for a trademark of the same, three weeks prior to their contract expiration.

But, Impact wrestling owners have the option to go to the higher authority to take the legal battle to a whole new level if the Hardy Boyz starts using the Broken gimmick during their WWE run.

At this point, WWE does not want to go into a legal battle with the rival promotion with this one. So, they decided not to use the most popular gimmick of 2016, at least for now.

Matt Hardy further tweeted out to give updates on the same. Here’s what he had posted to simplify things to the hardcore wrestling fans of them:

Another reason for the Broken gimmick not brought on the WWE TV is the fact that most of the WWE fans might not even aware of this side of the Hardyz.

Vince McMahon might not want these two getting into the darker sides of them, gradually to let the fans re-introduce with the character, going forward.

For now, the seven-time tag team champions will take on the team of Sheamus & Cesaro. The match might take place in the upcoming Raw-exclusive PPV, Payback on April 30.
