We expected to see a big match on Smackdown Live this week. Cien Andrade Almas was about to face his fellow-countrymen on the show.

Sin Cara was his opponent after weeks of confrontations. Both of them belong to the Mexico country. Previously they used to be friends under different promotion’s banner.

But Andrade became a different superstar after coming to the WWE. He possesses a dominant heel persona with Zelina Vega by his side. It helped him to become the former NXT Champion. He retained the same persona even after coming to the Smackdown roster.

Almas continued to beg for solid competition on the show. The officials could not give him formidable opponents to him until Sin Cara had a backstage confrontation with him. It gave an idea to the Smackdown general manager to announce a match between these two.

But the match never happened. The official website of the WWE gave an update stating Sin Cars has still not recovered from the ambush that Almas delivered last week. So, the battle between two former friends did not happen on the blue brand.

It is the official announcement made by,

Sin Cara is not cleared for competition this week, has learned. The masked man was originally scheduled to face his former friend, Andrade “Cien” Almas, tonight on SmackDown LIVE, but due to a shoulder injury suffered when Almas attacked him last Tuesday, Sin Cara will not be able to do battle.”

It is the first feud for ‘EliDolo’ after coming to Smackdown roster. These two have battled over live events. All of them witnessed Almas defeating Cara with dominance. The same should happen on TV taping as well.

It is a good process to put over the former NXT Champion using this high-flying superstar. Hopefully, the officials can build the character of Andrade Almas effectively. It will be a crime if he gets lost in the mix just like the former champion Bobby Roode did after coming from the NXT roster to Smackdown.

There’s no update on the severity of Sin Cara’s injury. If he’s unable to compete, then this feud might never happen on Smackdown. He should be available on next week’s episode of the show. Almas did indicate in his tweet that the match is happening on next Tuesday Night.
