Rumors broke out on the internet at the beginning of this week that Dean Ambrose is leaving the WWE. PWTorch was the first source who broke this news to the pro-wrestling world. It came as a huge shocker and might be just a wild rumor since this guy is a trusted shoulder in the WWE. But the confirmation arrived soon in the official website of the company.

WWE.com reaffirmed with a short statement that Dean Ambrose is indeed leaving the WWE in April. He will no more be a part of the WWE once Wrestlemania 35 is over,

“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”

Original plans with Dean Ambrose heel turn

As per the source, Dean Ambrose met the WWE management over the Royal Rumble weekend. He let his final decision know to the WWE management. It included a direct meeting with Vince McMahon. WWE obviously offered him a contract which he turned down sticking to his decision after which the confirmation arrived.

Sources also suggested that the former WWE Champion was not happy his position on the roster. The exact reason for his leaving is still not confirmed but creative differences are the expected one. He was suffering from frustration for a long time and might have reached a ‘breaking point’ recently.

One of his close friends pointed out that Dean Ambrose hated to be ‘hokey sh–‘. But WWE has been portraying him as a hokey for the last five years that gathered more frustration in him. It is evident since his Shield brethren has reached the level of main event scene when he had to stay more on the mid-card scene. But it is him who put his body on the line more than anybody.

So Dean Ambrose made his intentions clear to the WWE management that he’s indeed leaving. In fact, he’s not interested in any further negotiations. Also, it’s not that he is looking forward to collecting more money but maybe something bigger is his focus. At this point, PWInsider.com has revealed that WWE offered him a 5-year contract worth more than a $1 million.

But he turned it down which his colleagues did not even know and only got aware following this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Here’s more from the source as reported by Mike Johnson,

“We are told that Ambrose met with different members of WWE management over the last couple of days and made it clear by the time he had finished with his final meeting at Monday Night Raw yesterday that he was not intending on signing a new deal and was looking to leave.”
