Dolph Ziggler leaving WWE is long time speculation. Every time this man got misused on the roster, the rumours suggested he will probably leave the company for good.
But, it never actually happened, as he continued extending his contract. Starting from 2004, he had spent 14 years under WWE’s banner which is quite an achievement.
However, we can’t say the same about his career since he hardly found any significant success over the past few years. With each of the feuds reserved for him made him look like a jobber. Almost, all of the newcomers on the main roster was put over by the veteran WWE superstar.
It was a proper indication he would be leaving at any point. The rumours went wild about the same after the show-off decided to relinquish his US title after winning it at Clash of Champions PPV. Cagesideseats.com also hinted the same in recent times saying he already extended his one foot to live.
However, that did not happen due to a huge multi-year contract being offered to him. It was a storyline angle he left the blue brand for not getting enough opportunities. But, even in real-life, too he was thinking about doing the same. His deal with the WWE was coming to an end, and he was not in the mood to re-sign.
The biggest hint of the same was given by Shinsuke Nakamura, last year during an interview. The Royal Rumble winner of this year went on to reveal Dolph Ziggler would be heading to Japan, sooner to rejuvenate his career since he knew there might not be anything new in-store for his WWE career.
But, the decision changed due to the lucrative contract that was offered to him to earn millions of dollars. Check out the updates from SportsKeeda.com,
“Believe it or not, the rumours indicate that Ziggler was actually on the verge of walking out from the world’s largest wrestling promotion, shortly after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. However, the deal that was made to him made him sign on for two years.”
Now that he has come back onboard on Smackdown Live signing this deal, he should be getting main event opportunities more than ever before. It is why he became one of the contenders for the WWE Championship and went right into the six-pack contest at WWE Fastlane.
