Roman Reigns was about to compete in a singles contest on this week’s episode of WWE Raw. It was going to be the main event of the Pittsburgh edition of the show which eventually did not happen. Drew McIntyre attacked him from the back and hammered away at him. Later, he hit two Claymore Kicks that hurt him, legit.

Officials came out to rescue him from the scene and so did Seth Rollins. Later, Dean Ambrose showed his Lunatic side demanding a match against Drew McIntyre. It took place under Falls Count Anywhere rules where Ambrose received another beatdown. The former NXT Champion won the contest showing his vicious side dominating another Shield member.

There’re two big reasons why this has happened. Otherwise, we don’t often get to see a superstar dominating Roman Reigns like that. As per the reports of cagesideseats.com, the former Raw tag team champion will get a big match at Wrestlemania 35 following this attack. It will happen against none other than The Big Dog of the WWE.

This comes as great news for Drew McIntyre fans as he could be heading to bigger things once the showcase of immortals passes by. There have always been some rumors around Vince McMahon planning huge things for this bright talent. This report from the reliable source confirms those indicating Drew could be one of the top names in the company.

Another reason for this sudden attack comes as a surprise. Roman Reigns is not anymore present in the advertisements for the next week’s edition of WWE Raw. The All-State Arena in Chicago has removed him from all the promotions confirming his absence, almost. This could be happening to give some time-off to the poster boy. Here’s more from SportsKeeda.com,

“As per WrestlingInc, local advertisements in Chicago, where RAW will be held next week, no longer advertises Roman Reigns, while WWE’s website and the venue’s website has also surprisingly removed Reigns from the billing. It could perhaps be to give him some time off after a hectic two weeks since his return to the WWE, while he also doesn’t have any major storyline on RAW at the moment.”

It is a notable thing that WWE has not included Roman Reigns in house shows despite his return on WWE Raw. This is perhaps to cope up his body with a rigorous schedule, slowly rather than force him right into it. After all, he has come back defeating a life-threatening disease. Hence, it’s a smart strategy from a WWE perspective.
