WWE News: Reason Why Enzo Amore Missed this Week’s Raw 1

This week’s episode of WWE Raw was supposed to witness a Cruiserweight Championship match which was put out of the card at the very last moment. Cedric Alexander became the number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, two weeks ago and invoked the rematch clause. Hence, he was scheduled to face Enzo Amore on the New Year’s edition.

However, the match never did take place. Instead, a tag team match was organized with Goldust teaming with Alexander to derail the Zo-train featuring Ariya Daivari and Drew Gulak. The absence of the leader of the train was really missed. The real reason behind this was revealed on WWE.com and the social media.

It was reported that the ‘realest’ champ in the room was rushed to the hospital on the New Year’s night. He was suffering from the viral flu owing to the emergency condition. It looks like that the cold weather present outside around the US has got to the Certified G who was not able to attend the flagship program causing the officials to change the script.

It is what WWE.com has to offer regarding his condition,

“The flu prevented Enzo Amore from defending his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Cedric Alexander tonight on a special New Year’s Day edition of Raw, but nothing could keep The Certified G from taking to Instagram to share his unfortunate predicament and his unsuccessful attempt to enter the American Airlines Arena in Miami.”

The source further reported that Enzo Amore tried to attend the show in this condition. But, the WWE medical staffs checked him further and detected that he was in no condition to compete on the show. Hence, he was forced to re-hospitalised. The Cruiserweight Champion also addressed the critical condition on the social media stating,

“I apologize to the fans who won’t get to see a #G tonight in #Miami … I did everything I could from Toronto to Miami… From negative weather, through customs, to opting out on Diddy’s nye party in Miami, 10 hrs in a hospital, I did everything in my power to make sure I would be in that ring tonight to whoop Cedric Alexander’s hind-end … Ultimately: it was outta my hands. And I got the best freakin hands.”

As you can see, Enzo even skipped a big New Year’s party to attend the show and defend the title. However, he was not successful even after doing so. Hopefully, his condition gets on better shortly and he gets back on track starting from next week’s WWE Raw.
