WWE News: Reason Why Finn Balor Did Not Bring Demon King Back at Wrestlemania 34?
Finn Balor possesses an alter ego of himself. We used to see more of this persona on the NXT roster. The character’s origin is from the Irish mythology. The Demon King character used to be there who can defy all the odds. The former NXT Champion used to use this persona to showcase his indomitable spirit.
This particular look of Finn Balor is quite fearful. The looks, clad from head to toe with colour paints gives us spine chills every single time we see it. The entrance with his theme song is an additional treat for the fans.
Plus most of us do think that this is a tailor-made entrance for the showcase of immortals. The Demon King crawling out to the ring from the entrance ramp would make a scene to see by all means. So we expected to see this persona back at the Mercedes Benz Superdome for Wrestlemania 34.
But that was not the case. Finn Balor was out with his original theme music. He did have a special entrance, but that was for the LGBT community. A number of people around this group gathered at the entrance ramp while the former Universal Champion was making his entrance.
Recently Finn Balor spoke with the SI.com about this entrance. He asserted that this particular entrance was much more essential for him to instead of bringing back the demonic persona. It is the reason why did not see it this year. Here are his comments, (courtesy NoDQ.com),
“A lot of people maybe thought going into WrestleMania, ‘Well, if Finn’s not gonna be the Demon, it’s gonna suck. I think what we did at WrestleMania is a lot more important than any Demon could have been.”
The extraordinary man who can do extraordinary thing’ continued that this portion of the society does not get what they want. So it gave him pleasure for bringing relevance to them,
“I feel like—not that they were excluded, but sometimes they felt like they weren’t included. That’s something I felt a responsibility for, to use the platform that I have for good and to help maybe a small amount of people for the right reasons.”
WWE creative team has always protected this Demon King gimmick of Finn Balor. They brought it in certain times only when he is supposed to win a match. We have seen this only thrice on the main roster. The last time we saw it was at this year’s Summerslam where he defeated Baron Corbin.
