WWE News: Reason Why Paige Was Not Present on Smackdown Live 1

Paige became the WWE Smackdown Live general manager on the post-Wrestlemania episode.

The previous night, the anti-Diva of the WWE announced her retirement from in-ring competition. It came as a surprise, as it was announced at the same venue where she made her debut by winning the Divas Championship, four years ago.

For months now, she was banned from in-ring competitions owing to a severe neck injury. As per the reports, she has been suffering from scoliosis which means a permanent bent neck. It is just something similar happened to WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. It is why she could never wrestle in a WWE ring, ever again.

The moment when Paige announced her retirement was heartbreaking. For many of the fans in the WWE, she was an inspiration. The fact that Paige has done so much at such an early age is something to learn from. She was the champion at the age of just 21 which is unbelievable.

WWE fans started preparing to miss her when the announcement came abruptly where it was let known that Paige is becoming the new Smackdown general manager.

Not only the decision was supported, but the WWE Universe received a strong reason to tune into the blue brand presented show, each week.

On this past edition of the show, the GM was notably missing from WWE TV. Some of the fans wondered as of why this has happened. As per the reports from stillrealtous.com, Paige was spending some quality time with her family in England.

Going by her social media account, it is clear that she flew overseas to the United Kingdom to visit her family.

This is why WWE gave her the night off on the episode which was taped from Louisville, Kentucky. However, her brother confirmed the former leader of Absolution would be back on the next episode where we will see the fallouts from Greatest Royal Rumble night.

Since becoming the general manager, Paige has done justice to her role by giving us some great matches.

As per the updates from WWE, we will see her even over-delivering, especially to the women’s division of the company.
