WWE News: Reason Why Paul Heyman Confronted Finn Balor On Raw 1

As we all know by now, The Extreme Rules PPV will witness a huge fatal-5-way match to crown a number one contender for the Universal Championship.

Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins & Finn Balor would compete to earn their opportunity. The PPV is set to take place on June 4th at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

Now, the build up for the match has already started. WWE is promoting the match as the one which could change the face of the new era. It is quite evident since we have not witnessed a big match as part of a PPV main event comprising all the prime superstars from the flagship show in recent memory.

This past week on Monday Night Raw we have also witnessed quite an unconventional way to promote the hyped match. Finn Balor was out to cut a promo for Extreme Rules when he got interrupted by the advocate general of the beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman. The two got into quite a heated conversation.

Now, there’s a reason why a veteran like Heyman had to appear in the ring with Finn Balor. He is known as one of the all-time great managers in all of the sports entertainment. So, according to the reports from Dave Meltzer, WWE wanted to put over the Irish superstar with the help of the pro known as Heyman.

This is a gradual build up for The Demon King to reach the main event spot, once again. He already got the backup by the fans and so a slow push for him to reach to the title opportunity makes a perfect sense considering there are other guys who are also waiting to get their hands on the Universal title.

Meltzer also noted that WWE wants the fans to believe that Balor is the one to face Brock Lesnar at the earliest. So, the build up for him should be made even prior to the fatal-5-way match.

However, this might be turn out to be a complete swerve in the end when another one comes out victorious. In that case, the fans reaction will be worthy to see. Plus, the inevitable Balor vs. Lesnar match would be stored for near future.
