This year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony would be headlined by none other than the main eventer of last year’s Wrestlemania.
Goldberg is the latest first ballad superstar to be inducted into the prestigious club of the WWE. It is going to happen on the night of April 6th at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans Louisiana.
Fans have rejoiced ever since the name of Goldberg was announced for the Hall of Fame ceremony. But, the rumours kept on surrounding as of which superstars would induct him into the spotlight. Previously, this man used to be a pendant player in the WCW before Vince McMahon brought him into the taken over brand.
Goldberg always had an attitude problem which is why he had a short run in the company. Back at Wrestlemania 20, he chose to walk away from the WWE in a bitter situation. He never had good relationships with the company officials which is why the chance of a return was wiped out.
Furthermore, he never had any such friends in the WWE locker room who could induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame. So, Paul Heyman was chosen in this position even after he does not share any such personal bond with the former Universal Champion.
While discussing the same topic in a recent interview with DigitalSpy.com, Paul Heyman revealed the real reason why he will be doing the honour at Wrestlemania weekend. It is due to the personal wish of the man, himself. Check out his words (courtesy NoDQ.com)
“I am inducting Goldberg because that was Bill Goldberg’s specific request to WWE. Bill Goldberg personally requested that I induct him into the Hall of Fame. I have such respect for Goldberg as so far the one person who has truly taken the fight to Brock Lesnar in WWE.”
Furthermore, the advocate for the beast incarnate specified he has utter respect for Goldberg with the following comments,
“I also got a chance to witness him behind the scenes as a man, a husband, a father and I have the utmost respect for him as a human being and am honoured to be the one to encapsulate this moment for him and be the one to formally induct him into the Hall of Fame.”
It is a fact that Bill Goldberg returned to the WWE as a completely changed person in the company. He never was a sweet person in the early point of his career. But, being a father and a husband made him go humble, as we have seen during his 2016-17 stint.
Furthermore, it was Paul Heyman who suggested Vince McMahon stretching the one-off stint to the main event of Wrestlemania 33.
