WWE News: Reason Why Randy Orton Attacked Jeff Hardy on Smackdown 1
courtesy WWE.com

Jeff Hardy lost his United States Championship at Extreme Rules PPV. It was a short match at the PPV event against Nakamura.

The challenger came up with his pendant low blow to kick him out in the very beginning. After that, a Kinshasa was more than enough to take away the title.

Things turned even worse for Jeff Hardy once the match got over. Randy Orton’s music hit the arena, as he came back on Smackdown Live after a hiatus of more than three months. The initial belief was that he would go after Nakamura and his US title, but Orton stomped in the groin of Hardy showing the signs of a heel.

The villainous turn was confirmed on this past edition of Smackdown Live. Randy Orton cost Jeff Hardy the United States Championship. The latter one was on the verge of winning the title with a Swanton Bomb when The Viper struck. Thereafter, we witnessed a vicious beatdown from one of the most sadistic superstars in the company.

Apparently, this is just a storyline angle to sideline the Charismatic Enigma from Smackdown Live. Reliable Twitter source TicketDraw hinted that ‘Jeff taking some much needed time off’. It is a clear indication that the former US Champ is still dealing with some concussions and need some hiatus to heal the wounds off.

Cagesideseats.com also informed the same stating that Randy Orton attacking Jeff Hardy was just a setup. It would not allow Hardy to appear on the blue brand for the future weeks from a storyline perspective. It means we will not see the high-flying superstar in the biggest event of the summer. Last year, he suffered a shoulder injury just after the same show.

It sidelined him for more than six months. So the speculations are high whether he would have to stay away for long, this time, too. Earlier reports suggested Jeff Hardy was dealing with a back injury for quite sometimes. It is the reason why we were not seeing him using the Swanton Bomb in the house show events.

He confessed the same in an interview some days ago. If that was not all then a nerve concussion was also said to be giving him troubles.

This caused him to miss some TV tapings following Wrestlemania and also prevent to become a strong US champion. Hopefully, the time off will make him healthier than ever while coming back.
