WWE News: Reason Why Rusev Was Pulled Off From the Match Against Undertaker 1

Rusev was scheduled to face The Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27th.

Just after this announcement was made, he expressed his disappointment. It might come as a surprise since most of the superstars in the locker room can hardly get an opportunity to feature in a match against the greatest performer ever in the history of the pro-wrestling business. But, Rusev denied getting into this.

Taking things forward, the Bulgarian brute also posted a cryptic tweet about Undertaker burying him which was an indication that he was going to be squashed by the legendary superstar.

At this point, when Rusev Day has become outrageous, he was not willing to suffer a huge loss against The Deadman that might harm his career.

So, Chris Jericho was named as his replacement in the ‘casket match’ at Greatest Royal Rumble. The internet was eager to find out what the actual truth behind Rusev getting shifted from this contest would be. Some theories stated he might be suffering from a backstage heat of the officials.

To take to a whole new level, the former US Champion was interviewed by TMZ Sports alongside his wife, Lana. Speaking too much about the incident, he uttered the following,

“I am obviously going to crush him. The only thing that is a little bit worrying me is it’s a Casket Match. I have never had a Casket Match before… I have never been buried before. So you know he’s got an advantage there, but then again it’s Rusev Day bro.”

Rumours started spreading about Rusev saying some nasty things on the Phenome which is why Undertaker’s wife, Michelle McCool posted a tweet.

Rusev did not say the words that he would “crush his old ass” but did say that The Undertaker is no more in his prime and he could have even retired him. These have definitely irked the former Divas Champion.

Meanwhile, to portray this whole angle, as a storyline, WWE made Lane sent out a tweet which focused on the ‘casket match’ issue. Even on the video, Rusev added the only problem with the match was that he had never competed in something like this. But, a professional wrestler like him can’t make an excuse like this.

We only hope this bright young talent is not suffering a backstage heat that might harm his career.

But, then again, one just can’t refuse a match with the Undertaker and get away with it. It might be why WWE edited out Rusev Day chants in a video from Smackdown Live as given above.
