A massive championship change happened at Elimination Chamber that appeared shocking to the fans. The Usos walked into the PPV to challenge The Miz & Shane McMahon for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Eventually, they come up with the big win and become the new title-holders.
Despite Shane McMahon coming up with multiple offenses, The Miz was the one who digested the pinfall via a simple roll-up. This altered the champions at Elimination Chamber shattering the so-called best tag teams in the world. The Usos have become a six-time world tag team champions continuing their legacies in the pro-wrestling world.
The predictions for this tag team match was in favor of Shane McMahon and The Miz. They were the favorites to retain their championships since they have just won it back at Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Plus, the potential backlash around the Usos might have already derailed them from the championships hunt.

Jimmy Uso got arrested following an altercation with police in Detroit. Apparently, his behavior was inappropriate that forced the officials to do take him under police custody. WWE had to issue a public statement confirming that he is responsible for his own actions. It was likely the sole reason that WWE was not giving him the titles, anytime soon.
But they were right back into track becoming the new tag team champions. As per the recent reports, WWE officials are worried that these veteran team might choose to leave the WWE for AEW. Their contracts will soon run out which are yet to be renewed. So the officials wanted to make these two happy, handing over the titles. Here’s more from wwfoldschool.com,
“Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW is interested in The Usos, and WWE is trying to keep their talents happy because they don’t want there to be a perception that people want to leave the company. Their deals are set to expire in April, and as of last week The Usos had not signed new deals with WWE.”
Well, WWE does treat the Usos as a special team under their banner. They have already spent more than ten years in the company which is tremendous accomplishment itself. Hopefully, they do renew the contracts in due course. Meanwhile, the tag team title loss is likely to create a rift between Shane McMahon and The Miz setting up a Wrestlemania rivalry.
