For the last two consecutive weeks, WWE Raw delivered jam-packed shows. Due to the Survivor Series PPV on the card, the brand rivalry between Raw and Smackdown was at its best, and bigger names got included in the mix. It also took the TV ratings to the upwards direction after a long time.
That was until this week arrived with the big names went on to a hiatus and the show turned out to be a dull one. Also, two regular superstars from the show were absent. Dean Ambrose from The Shield and Sheamus from The Bar, one-half of the WWE Raw tag team champions missed the show.
These two names are known as the workhorses of the WWE since they rarely miss shows. Dean Ambrose, in particular, has not taken a significant amount of time-off since the year 2014. He is the one to work in more number of matches in the past couple of years than anybody on the roster.
So, his absence was felt on the show to a big extent. The expected WWE Raw tag team championship match also got cancelled due to this. A report from wrestlezone.com declared, as to why these two veteran in-ring workers were absent from the show.

The Lunatic Fringe took a hiatus to go on to his honeymoon in Hawaii and hence needed a much-needed break. In case you don’t know, Ambrose is married to WWE host, Renee Young. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Las Vegas, early this year. Due to this vacation planning, the pretty face was also absent from Raw and Smackdown, this week.
Sheamus, on the other hand, was on his yearly sabbatical to spend time in his home country of Ireland. Both of them will be back on next week’s show, and there’s need to worry about the fans. As a result, we will get the Raw tag team championship match from Los Angeles, California.
It is to be noted that since a regular face like Dean Ambrose missed this week’s Raw, rumours were suggesting that The Shield might be breaking up. However, Seth Rollins addressed the rumours suggesting that’s not the case. Instead, they would look forward to being stronger by capturing the tag team gold.
