The match between John Cena and Roman Reigns was made official with a promo on Raw, two weeks ago. The segment lasted long over 15 minutes and turned out to be one of the best on the flagship show in recent times. The two franchise players of the company went back and forth to blast each other.
Quite interestingly, the lines were based on real life angles rather the TV angle. It is the reason the segment turned out to be a complete shoot and created the buzz for the match where two of the faces of the company will collide.
Now, the first promo was good enough to create the hype up. But, we got a repeat of the same on last week’s Raw. Cena won a match against Jason Jordan after which the Big Dog came down to have a face-off and resume the shoot, once again. Apparently, there was a big reason as of why the creative planned the second segment.
Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggested that the sole reason to make this feud was to put Roman Reigns over with John Cena. But, in the first segment, the Cenation Leader, the best promo-cutter ever has won the round.
At that time, he stated such strong words to his opponent like “I can do this part-time better than you could ever do it full-time.” Or “You can’t do your job right, that’s why I’m still here” was a legit proof that he is miles away from The Guy in the WWE.
RESPECT isn’t earned with words.
It’s earned by action.
He does the talking and I’ll do the walking. #WWENoMercy

The Undertaker-slayer even had forgotten his lines and remained silent for a significant amount of time which harmed his character. Keeping in mind, the second segment was organized so that Reigns can be over with the debacle made, two weeks ago. Check out Meltzer’s words, here:
“You know you could see on this one, that he was going right on the script and John Cena was going right on the script. And they knew what happened last week and they knew John Cena got the better of him. And it was very clear that it was designed for Roman Reigns to get the better of John Cena and get the last laugh in.”
