The saga with Matt Hardy’s “Broken” gimmick is ongoing for quite a while now. The Hardy Boyz returned to the WWE at Wrestlemania 33 but we haven’t seen him in the ‘Broken’ avatar. They are using their previous WWE gimmicks i.e. the team “Team Extreme”.
The recent ongoing in the story witnessed the owner of the Impact Wrestling, Ed Norholm releasing all the emails that were communicated with WWE. As seen on those leaked pictures, he was keen to sell the rights for the ‘broken’ gimmick to the WWE after Hardy Boyz left their promotion.
However, WWE was never interested in buying it, either. In a further clarification, Ed stated the following that despite some taking in the company WWE remained unmoved from their decision of not going further to buy the rights from Impact:
“As far as I know, the WWE doesn’t want the gimmick, and indeed, from every conversation I’ve had with them…I’ve been told they (WWE) have no interest in it.”
“The facts are that we tried to accommodate the Hardys for their Ring of Honour engagements, and have tried to elicit an indication from WWE whether they have an interest in using the Broken Brilliance creative in WWE. We are not hoarding it from WWE; WWE is not interested in it.”
Apparently, the released e-mails are said to save the owners of Impact, momentarily. Reby Hardy, wife of Matt Hardy gave a response to these saying that she intends to release the phone calls that will release the ‘inaccurate’ record regarding this matter.
Should we release the phonecalls ? I kinda wanna release the phonecalls now… since we playin petty, apparently.

But hey, that’s cool. Something else we’ll add to the list of offenses. Thanks ! ?

I just think it’s cute that TNA feels the need to “prove” themselves to randoms on the internet. Know why we don’t bother ?

Anthem mad because WWE didn’t fall for their offensive money grab. That type of “business” is right on par with @RealJeffJarrett gold scam

Long story short: TNA tried a literal sales pitch on WWE re: #BROKEN gimmick (which isn’t legally theirs) & they said “LOLZ yeah no, thanks”

Reby Hardy took her Twitter handle to post a series of tweets indicating that they might take the matter to the court. Impact Wrestling was trying to sell a product to the WWE which never even belonged to them. The ‘Broken’ gimmick was innovated by Matt himself and he also filed paperwork to get the rights to it.
Oh. And you might want to try spamming dirtsheets with the ACTUAL final version of that contract if you’re going to break confidentiality ??

Because it’s ALLLLLL coming out in court, honey. From the attorneys we hired back in MARCH. Where are those “logs” ? ??

YALL ARE A JOKE & in that aspect alone, YOU ALREADY LOST. But we can – and will – make the L official, my dude.@EdNordholm #NoCredEd

The fact that Impact has released the e-mails has already breached the confidentiality clause in their agreement. So, if taken to the court, they are bound to face a horrible situation. The matter has now become much worse for the company. We will keep you updated with the latest on this.
