Earlier it was reported that the Smackdown Live commentary team is going to lose a valuable asset from this week onwards. The veteran WWE Superstar John Bradshaw Layfield aka JBL would no longer be available for calling things out on the show. He wanted to take time-off to spend more time for his charitable work, and his wish was granted.
The official twitter handle of the former WWE Champion was the first to let us know about this news. WWE later confirmed it by posting the following on their official website. They have also wished very best to JBL for his social works for which he has been involved over a decade,
“JBL announced that he is stepping back from his weekly role as SmackDown LIVE announcer to focus on his new role as a Beyond Sports Global Ambassador. The longest-reigning WWE Champion in SmackDown history will continue his more than 20-year relationship with WWE by appearing on events such as WrestleMania and WWE Tribute to the Troops – which JBL inspired in 2003.”
Ever since this announcement came to public, the fans started to speculate about the possible replacement of the legendary superstar. The first name that came to mind was Renee Young. She is the most familiar face at present for her backstage interviews. So, many fans from the WWE Universe did wish to see her on the commentary desk, as well.
Sad @JCLayfield is leaving #SDLive announcers desk. He brought a veteran’s authority. Time for @ReneeYoungWWE to make a little history…? pic.twitter.com/TpqflLbP01

Renee has noticed these tweets, for sure and went on to address it which was a negative one. Previously, the blonde-hair girl had tried to be a commentator in one-off shows like WWE Superstars or even at NXT. It was a tryout for the host which might not have gone too well. As a result, we did not see her back on the table, anymore.
While I truly appreciate all of the support on this,I would just like to remind everyone that I was never very good at commentary for NXT ?? https://t.co/aQpysHDx6o

The Total Divas-girl mentioned this to her fans stating that her previous experience as a commentator was not good. Hence, WWE officials would not promote her to a spot that was reserved by a WWE Hall of Famer, till date.
