WWE acknowledged the injury reports, right away confirming that he is dealing with a separated shoulder. Unfortunately, though Rey Mysterio won the United States Championship for the first time ever at Money in the Bank that he had to give up due to this. Samoa Joe had the opportunity to get the title back since Rey won in a way where Joe’s shoulders were clearly up from the mat.

It started a journey for Rey Mysterio to the recovery process which is quite tough at his age. He has been in the pro-wrestling business since the early 90s which had his body totally bruised. So we thought his road to recovery would be long. But the legend may be coming back in a minimal amount of time, as per the recent reports.
According to a suggestion from sescoops.com, The Master of 619 is targeting a return to WWE within two weeks from now. WWE has his comeback slated for the July 8th show in East Rutherford, New Jersey. But prior to that, Rey Mysterio has to pass through the medical tests given by the WWE doctors. So this is not sure-shot return date, though.
During a recent interview with WrestlingINC, Rey Mysterio commented on the injury suffered at the hands of Samoa Joe at Money in the Bank, “Due to the unfortunate aftermath after winning the title, I suffered a separated left shoulder,” he said. “That has put me on the bench, so I’ve been doing some PRP and slight rotation movements. I’m trying to see if I could get back in possibly late June or July.”

Initial reports indicated that Rey Mysterio might have to lose a number of months due to the shoulder injury. In case, he would have dislocated the rotator cuffs then it could take more than six months to recover. Thankfully, the Grand Slam Champion of the WWE would come back within this summer that indicates the company can use him in a match at Summerslam.
