The rumours are running rampant about Rey Mysterio signing a contract with the WWE.
This started ever since he made a return to the promotion by entering at the number 27 spot at the Royal Rumble match. The segment received the hugest pop of the night, and it was noticed by the officials, for sure.
Afterwards, it has also turned out to be the most watched video on WWE Youtube channel.
The veteran in-ring performer was interested in coming back to the company after an absence for the last four years. It was another reason why the officials were preparing to sign him back under their banner. He was even contacted to perform in a match at Wrestlemania 34 where John Cena was his rumoured opponent.
But, at this time, all of those planning are supposed to get spoiled, as Rey Mysterio might have suffered a concussion while working in a wrestling show. After quitting the WWE, the former World Champion works around the independent scenes, and this was one such show. If the reports are to be believed, then he might have injured his biceps after a bad landing.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter was the one to give an update on this injury. Apparently, the Masked Luchador was struggling with his arms following the injury. But, being a veteran name in the industry, he was able to finish off the match and pick up the win via pinfall. Check out the details on the injury via SportsKeeda.com,
“Meltzer reports that the former World Heavyweight Champion was working a tag team match alongside Flip Gordon, against the team of Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley for Northeast Wrestling promotion in Waterbury, Connecticut, when the injury occurred.
Mysterio is said to have injured his left bicep badly, and those who saw him after the match reported heavy swelling in his arm, though the extent of the injury is still unknown at this point.”

The interesting thing noted in the report was that once Mercury discovered that Rey Mysterio was injured, he wanted to give the cross signal. It is a sign to make backstage people understand of a legit injury. But, the Master of 619 was back to his feet in quick times. He set up for a double 619 to his opponents and the followed up with a splash off the top rope to pick up the win.
This indicates how much this man is committed while working in a match.
