WWE News: Rob Van Dam Confirms That He Is In Talks With WWE For A Return
Rob Van Dam is considered as one of the greatest performers in the history of the pro-wrestling. He is that one particular name who has been successful in leading wrestling promotions, over the years. Starting his career in the hardcore wrestling world of ECW, he made it to the WWE and became the WWE Champion.
Later, he left the company to join the rival brand, TNA wrestling promotion and became a champion, there, too. This made her held a rare milestone which is becoming a world champion in all three leading wrestling promotions, ECW, TNA, and WWE. Apart from this, he also became a Money in the Bank winner and tag team title-holder, as well.
The high-flying actions that RVD used to come up with were no matchups for the other superstars, at one point. This is the reason why he was named as the “Human Highlight Reel”. His career went downwards in this decade considering he could not make it big after making it back to the WWE.
In 2013, Rob Van Dam returned to his hometown of Philadelphia to a standing ovation from the fans. But, due to bad bookings, he could not reach his full potential and never been able to hold the prime titles. So, quite expectedly, he was forced to leave the WWE, at one point.
Later, there were quite a few rumors of whether he is intending to come back to the promotion for one last stint or not. But, no positive feedback has been given until now when he confirmed that the talks are going on.
In a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the former ECW original commented that WWE is in talks with him for a video gaming which might come up with a possibility of a return in the near future. Check out the comments, here:
“I don’t have any plans to share, but there is always a possibility of a return. I’ve talked to WWE recently, but it’s about the new video games that are coming out. That was more of a business talk about that, but when the business is right and it’s the right time to go back, that, of course, is then always a possibility.”
