WWE News: The Rock Talks About His Absence From Wrestlemania 33 And Baywatch Movie

The Rock was absent from this year’s Wrestlemania despite it being hosted in his home-state of Florida. This marked her first miss since returning to the WWE in 2011. Prior to the event, the news already surfaced on the internet that he would be busy with his movie commitments and will not be available to attend the showcase of immortals.

At the time of Wrestlemania, his new movie, Fate of the Furious was released worldwide to be the biggest box-office attraction, around the globe. He was also busier with his summer release Baywatch with Priyanka Chopra who plays the role of the antagonist in the movie.

Recently, a premiere of the Baywatch movie was held where The Rock caught up with reporter Chris Van Vliet. The interviewer wanted to know about his absence from Wrestlemania 33 when he was quick to point out that he was busy filming the latest season of the Ballers in Los Angeles forcing him to stay away. Check out his comments:

“No I didn’t get a chance to, I was shooting at that time. We were just wrapping up Ballers in LA so I didn’t get a chance to make it.”

Also, the former franchise player of the WWE stated that his promo cutting skills help him while playing the role Mitch Buchanon in the Baywatch movie. The Great One is known as the best promo-delivering person in the history of the company. These were his quotes when asked if the promos in the WWE would help him:

“1000%. That was the fun part of this movie. We wanted to make sure that we nailed the tone we also wanted to make sure that we took advantage of the rated R platform. If you’ve seen the movie, there’s a lot of things that are very funny and they’re clearly rated R.”

The entire crew and casts of the Baywatch movie attended the premiere which also included Zac Effron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Hannibal Bures.

The Rock will be busy doing more Hollywood flicks in the near future. He had another release waiting which is Jumanji: Welcome to Jungle Set. The movie is slated to release on December 20th. With so much going on around him it is not expected that he will return to WWE, soon.
