Smackdown Live ended on the biggest note as Roman Reigns found a new home on Tuesday Nights. WWE stored a massive shocker to end the Superstar Shakeup edition of 2019 by bringing the franchise player of the company to the blue brand. It was hard to expect that we could see him on the B-show of the company. But then again, anything was possible considering the fall of 2019 when Smackdown moves to a different TV Network.
Vince McMahon was present during the main event segment of Smackdown Live to announce the biggest acquisition in the history of the show. When everybody thought of a bigger name, he revealed Elias to be the name to disappoint everybody. Elias tried to serenade the audience in Canada with his special performance only to receive loud boos. It surrounded the arena for sometimes until Roman Reigns made his way to the ramp.
He went straight to hit Elias into the mouth with a Superman Punch and connect with another one on Vince McMahon! As they both were down, Roman Reigns announced, “I don’t care what he says. Smackdown Live is my yard now!” With this statement, he confirmed the Tuesday Night show to be the new show to watch him on TV, every single week. If that was not enough good news, the Big Dog ended the segment delivering a huge spear on Elias, much to the delight of the audience.
WWE made the huge announcement of bringing a marquee superstar on the Smackdown brand once Monday Night Raw was over, this week. They have included Vince McMahon into the show to give the breaking news which made the stakes even high,
“The first night of the Superstar Shake-up was thrilling, to say the least. Although SmackDown LIVE is saying goodbye to Superstars like AJ Styles, The Miz, Rey Mysterio, and Naomi, there is still plenty of intrigue as to who will be joining Team Blue. The mystery has been heightened by Mr. McMahon, who will be revealing the biggest acquisition in SmackDown LIVE history tonight. Who has the WWE Chairman secured for the blue brand?”
With this announcement, the speculations started running rampant about who the superstar could be to arrive on Smackdown. We have already reported that Fox Sports is acquiring Smackdown from October 2019. They are intending to give the show a major mainstream sports feel that needs some heavyweight names on the brand. So names like Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns were always in the rumor mill to get inducted into the Tuesday Night show. In the end, WWE chose their poster boy to carry the B-show from now onwards.
