The second part of WWE Superstar Shakeup was in-store on last night’s Smackdown. Vince McMahon made an appearance on the show to reveal the biggest acquisition of the blue brand’s history. Paige introduced a brand new women’s tag team alongside the other surprises of the night. Check out the results from the show hosted by the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
An episode of Kevin Owens kicked things off on Smackdown Live with the host getting big reception from the crowd. The New Day members were his guests on the show. But Big E was absent since he is dealing with an injured knee. So they needed a third member into the team. Kevin Owens volunteered himself to play the role in the name of Big O.
Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor made his way to Smackdown in his new home. He had a match with Ali in a non-title capacity. Ali took control of the match in the early part by putting down Balor with a suicidal dive. He countered Sling Blade with a superkick and went for the 450-splash. Balor moved out of the way and set up for the Coup De Grace and hit it for the win.
Carmella vs. Charlotte Flair was the next match lineup on Smackdown Live. Carmella gained the upper hand by hitting a cross-body on the floor and bronco buster inside the ring. But Charlotte delivered a big boot followed by a Dragon Screw that set up for the Figure Eight submission. She picked up the win via submission.
After the match, Lars Sullivan entered the ring as R-Truth ran down to save Carmella. He tried to take Sullivan down with a corkscrew forearm but no effect. The big man caught him with a Freak Accident and then followed it with a ferocious running powerbomb before leaving.
Becky Lynch walked out on Smackdown to cut a promo before Ember Moon walked out to interrupt. Bayley also appeared on the show to disclose that she is a part of Tuesday Nights. The IIconics, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville also appeared to have some words. Paige came out to introduce the newest tag team of Asuka and Kairi Sane.
An eight-man tag team match was next on the show with the lineup of Bayley, Ember Moon, Asuka and Kairi Sane vs. The IIconics, Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille. Asuka took control of the match with a shinning wizard on Royce followed by an inverted DDT. Kairi Sane went to the top rope landed the InSane Elbow on Royce to get the victory.
A six-man tag team match was the main event of Smackdown with the lineup of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens vs. Rusev, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro. Kofi almost pinned Cesaro with an SOS but got caught in the Cesaro Swing and Sharpshooter. Owens broke up the submission move as Kofi floored everyone with a fly. Owens delivered a Stunner on Rusev to get the big win.
Vince McMahon made his way to the ring to announce the biggest acquisition of Smackdown Live. He announced Elias’ name who tried to sing a song. Roman Reigns entered the scene to deliver a Superman Punch! He followed up with another one to Vince McMahon to announce that Smackdown is his yard now to end the show.
