It’s no secret that Vince McMahon has utmost favouritism regarding Roman Reigns. From the get-go of his career, the company wanted him to be the next poster boy. So, WWE came up with numerous such arrangements. It was to ensure his establishment in the destined place.
It was during a one-off feud against Daniel Bryan which generated negative reactions for Roman Reigns. The YES movement was one of the most organic feuds created by the creative team.
Hence, the fans were furious of Daniel Bryan putting over the Big Dog before Wrestlemania 31.
Since that time, the fans kept on showering boos on the franchise player of the WWE. Sometimes, the reactions turn out to be the worst. For instance, in the bygone London or Montreal episode of WWE Raw, fans wanted to eat him alive during his promos. It is why the heel-turn might save the days for him.
There was a point when the almighty Stone Cold Steve Austin also portrayed a heel character. It helped him to get ‘over’ with the fans. The sudden babyface turn made him the prime face of the company, universally.
In a recent episode of his podcast, the Texas Rattlesnake wanted the same planning for Roman Reigns, as well. These were his comments,
“For him to have the biggest run… You’ve got to turn him heel, and he’s got to perform and let loose.”
But, does Roman Reigns care about the comments from the Hall of Famer? The answer is a big NO. Recently, he spoke to The Express and showed utmost respect to the master of Stunners. But, Stone Cold does not create the feuds for him because he’s not the Boss.
It is what Roman Reigns had to say on this matter,
“So I think there’s definitely a lot of truth in what he has to say and I value his opinion. Is it going to happen? I can’t guarantee that. It’s one of those situations where you kind of got to take it week by week and just understand the role. I definitely think there is a lot of great truth to what he’s thinking and his knowledge in the game. But Stone Cold is not my boss.”
The Big Dog continued saying he doesn’t need to be a villain on TV. He is already getting booed, on a daily basis. So, he does not deserve to have a separate villainous gimmick. It’s clear from his comments that there’s no immediate planning to pull the trigger on Roman Reigns.
