We have never thought of seeing The Shield back together on WWE Raw. But last night we have seen that unthinkable reunion courtesy of the unmatched quests from Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. They were unable to take Dean Ambrose by their side for a long time which finally happened after a sudden attack from the heels. The trio put their first-bumps together announcing they are back on the same page. They will also compete at Fastlane as a team.
Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin arrived on WWE Raw to gang up on Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Dean Ambrose looked confused for a bit but then decided to save his buddies who were down with lack of number games. They cleared house together after which Reigns and Rollins wanted Ambrose to join the fist-bump. He finally did so as the Philadelphia crowd erupted.
Bombshell Diva announced for Hall of Fame
Following this moment, WWE.com confirmed a six-man tag team match for Fastlane,
“It’s the reunification you never thought you’d see again. The Shield will once again unite when they go to war against Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre & Bobby Lashley at WWE Fastlane this Sunday. Don’t miss The Hounds of Justice run wild for one last ride at WWE Fastlane, streaming live this Sunday at 7 ET/4 PT on WWE Network.”
Roman Reigns has not only returned on WWE TV, last week but also announced to be out of Leukemia. We were still in doubts whether this meant his abrupt comeback to in-ring competition. Well, WWE cleared those after inserting him in a physical altercation. He appeared inside the ring alongside Seth Rollins to save Dean Ambrose from a beatdown. There were four heel superstars of WWE Raw who were trying to show their dominance.
Elias, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre were these four names that got into the bad books of Roman Reigns. This hinted that the comeback match of The Big Dog should happen at Fastlane. Reports were already out on the internet suggesting that we will indeed see the franchise player coming back to competition at Fastlane. But there were some doubts about the exact lineup.
One available option was to reunite The Shield alongside Braun Strowman against the four heels from WWE Raw. Or else, the local ads for Fastlane promoted a handicapped match. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were about to team up against Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre. The confusing situation of Dean Ambrose was the likely reason that the WWE creative team did not come to any conclusion, right away. But in the end, they decided to keep the original Shield band intact against the three heels keeping it a balanced lineup.
