Roman Reigns will continue to crawl his way towards the Universal Championship picture, again.

He believes himself to be the “uncrowned Universal Champion” on WWE Raw. Earlier updates from the flagship show confirmed his win at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV. But, the officials continued their vendetta against him.

Plus, Stephanie McMahon returned on this week’s episode of WWE Raw to stack the odds against him. She objected to Kurt Angle continuing his favouritism towards Roman Reigns. We have seen how the WWE Raw GM denied to give away several opportunities to the Big Dog, due to the same reasons.

So, Roman Reigns can’t qualify for either the MITB ladder match or the Universal title match. He will have to get involved in a feud against Jinder Mahal, for now. WWE has now confirmed the first singles match of the feud at the upcoming PPV event.

Roman Reigns vs Jinder Mahal in a one-on-one match is now official for the show.

Check out the official statements from WWE.com,

“A determined Jinder Mahal will attempt to suppress the seemingly uncontrollable fury of The Big Dog when he goes to war against Roman Reigns at WWE Money in the Bank. With the animosity at a fever pitch, Reigns and Mahal will finally look to settle things one-on-one when they face-off at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Sunday, June 17, at 8 ET/5 PT on the award-winning WWE Network!”

Some of the fans might not be happy with this announcement. Jinder Mahal is one of the most hated persons on the roster. The same goes for Roman Reigns, as well. The fans eat him alive, on a weekly basis.

Be it a PPV event or the weekly televised shows; there’re no positive reactions in-store for him. So, none of them is likely to impress the fans.

The only way to get positive reactions from this feud is to come up with great matches. But, Jinder Mahal does not have the potential to deliver quality matches on a regular basis. So, there are doubts whether WWE can pull off a successful feud between these two.

Jinder Mahal had a strong run with the WWE Championship, last year. After that, his career started going downwards. It is the first singles match for him in a PPV since Clash of Champions 2017.

Concluding, we will see if he manages to come up with a good performance against Roman Reigns at MITB.
