WWE News: Roman Reigns will not become champion at Battleground 1

The next night after the biggest Money in the Bank pay-per-view in the history of the event, both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns wanted to put on their rematch clause against Dean Ambrose. As a result, the runner of the show, Shane McMahon has decided to make the main event of the night determine a number one contender for Dean Ambrose’s title defense at the Battleground PPV.
Unfortunately, the chaotic main event saw a double count-out after a terrific contest. So, the champion wanted to have them both as the opponent and Shane McMahon agreed with him seemingly thus making a blockbuster main event for the next big event in WWE. The former members of the Shield members will go against each other in a triple threat match at Battleground which is basically a dream match for the WWE Universe.
But in a shocking turn of events the following night WWE has announced that Roman Reigns is suspended from the company for WWE’s wellness policy violation. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion then admitted the same on Twitter and took all the responsibilities for the violation upon him. Being the first time Wellness policy violator, Roman Reigns was suspended from WWE for 30 days.

If that’s not all, many speculate that it was the sole reason that Reigns lost clean to Seth Rollins in the championship match at Money in the Bank pay-per-view considering the fact that he was not scheduled to drop his title until Summerslam is over.
The announcement gave birth to further rumors that Reigns would be removed from the Battleground triple threat match and the main event would be contested as a one-on-one match against Rollins and Ambrose. Though, this week’s WWE tapings suggested that the match will remain a triple threat affair.
Roman Reigns’ suspension will be over 4 days prior to the Battleground pay-per-view. So he is definitely going to feature in the match but as per report from cagesideseats.com Roman Reigns is not going to recapture the title at the PPV. Roman was scheduled to defend the championship at Summerslam prior to his suspension. Now, there should be a plan B ready for him.
