Ronda Rousey has been a constant marquee attraction on WWE Raw programming throughout 2018. The tradition has not changed even on the very last day of the year. She delivered yet another main event match to pull down the curtain. This time around, she was not alone. Her storyline best friend cum training partner, Natalya was alongside her to deliver a solid main event match. These two put down the strongest heels of the WWE Raw roster to close the show on a happy note.
Before moving forward, we should mention that Ronda Rousey defended her women’s championship last week. None other than Natalya was her opponent on WWE Raw who threw a tough challenge. But ‘the baddest woman on the planet’ overcame all the odds to retain the WWE Raw women’s championship. The two of them hugged it out to keep their bond intact.
It means that the two of them were not moving forward into a full-fledged rivalry. Rather, Natalya came up with a big announcement in the middle of last night’s WWE Raw. She declared herself as the first entrant into the women’s Royal Rumble match in 2019. But the good vibes soon came to an end as two heels came back to deliver an assault on her.
Nia Jax and Tamina were absent from WWE Raw programming following WWE TLC. These two came back attacking Natalya from the back. This infuriated Ronda Rousey who wanted to teach them a lesson. So the tag team main event match was official on WWE Raw where Ronda Rousey teamed up with Natalya against Nia Jax and Tamina.
The two babyfaces started the match in a quick pace and cleared house at the get-go. Ronda Rousey started the match punishing Tamina with some of her pendant punches. Tamina had no choice but to tag in Nia Jax into the match. Rousey controlled her for a bit before receiving an avalanche. But Nia missed a summersault senton allowing Ronda to tag in Natalya.
Both the heel punished Natalya throughout the next few minutes before she tagged in her partner. Ronda almost had Snuka within the arm-bar before Nia broke it with a leg-drop. Natalya downed her with a clothesline after which Snuka missed a frog splash. Ronda Rousey locked in the arm-bar on her to pick up the submission win, thereafter. The two of the best friends celebrated to close the final edition of WWE Raw in a big way.
