WWE made the dream for women come true at the Evolution PPV event. It was unthinkable to create a show featuring only women superstars even a few years ago. But the slow yet steady process of women’s revolution delivered a successful show from Long Island, New York. This fuelled up the speculations of a women’s main event at the upcoming edition of Wrestlemania.
Original planning for Women’s main event at Wrestlemania
None but Ronda Rousey is the center of the planning, undoubtedly. She has been a storm ever since arriving in the WWE back at the Royal Rumble in January. She started by delivering an entertaining tag team match at Wrestlemania 34. Thereafter, WWE Raw women’s title and Evolution main event were waiting for her.
Now the rumors are wild suggesting that Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair would be the lineup for Wrestlemania 35 main event. This is the most automatic choice considering these two are the two heaviest names on the female roster. At one point, the clash seems evident to prove who could reign supreme over one another just like Charlotte vs. Asuka.
In fact, the WWE creative team has separated these two with the weapon of brand split. It ensured that they could eventually meet at a big stage like Wrestlemania. But Ronda Rousey mentioned her dream opponent at the biggest stage and it’s not Charlotte Flair! She has chosen one of her contemporaries showering with immense praises.
Ronda Rousey was a guest on the PWI Podcast with Al Castle and Dan Murphy. The hosts asked her about her dream opponent at Wrestlemania. Surprisingly, she dodged the name of Charlotte Flair and named Sasha Banks as the one she wants to face. The champ mentioned her as the best technical female wrestler of this generation, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
“I would really love to wrestle Sasha Banks. I think I’ve just been so impressed watching her work, and see her in the back, and see her work. And I was already a fan of hers before. I think that we would be able to make something great together and I think she has given a lot of women their best matches ever.”

The ‘baddest woman on the planet’ was more than humble while talking about Sasha Banks. She continued saying that it’s not possible for her to reach the level of The Boss. Ronda Rousey does not know whether the creative team would like the idea of this match. But she could anticipate for something amazing to happen with Sasha Banks being her opponent,
“But I almost feel like I’m not at the right level yet for her. I really think that we could make something really special and really great, but I don’t know that I’m at the level that’s ready for that yet and I don’t know if the company would ever like that, but in a perfect world, I would definitely love that for sure.”
