Ronda Rousey is going to be an integral part of women’s Evolution PPV. She is one of the primary reasons WWE has come up with the idea. Putting a PPV show featuring only the women superstars is not easy at all. The fans have not seen such idea culminating in such a big stage, earlier than this. So WWE has taken a lot of risks for it.
They needed some dependable names for the Evolution PPV. Ronda Rousey is one of those who could help to sell tickets. There will be significant returnees like The Bella Twins, Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix and more. Then there will be regular names from the women’s roster like Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and more.
Now, Ronda Rousey is all set to main-event the Evolution event. It might be the only reason she won the WWE Raw women’s championship at Summerslam PPV event. It cleared the path to set up a major title defence for her at the all-women show. Rumours already suggested Nikki Bella should the name to challenge her in a title match. But there’s might be a plan B in-store for her.
A recent report suggested Ronda Rousey could end up having a tag team match at Evolution. In fact, this could lead up to the much-anticipated UFC vs WWE four-horsewomen matchup at Survivor Series. Joe Peisich hinted the same on a recent episode of Barn Burner Radio’s fired-up Podcast. He mentioned that Rousey could team up with one of her former UFC partners.
Here’s the update (courtesy SportsKeeda.com),
“The WWE is reportedly floating around the idea of doing Bayley and Sasha Banks versus Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. He also mentions that the WWE might make it the main event of the all-women pay per view. This would be a huge deal for all involved.”
Sasha Banks and Bayley has formed a team on WWE Raw for quite sometimes. Apparently, they were together for a women’s tag team division. But that is not happening shortly leading these two into anywhere. Competing in random matches with Riott Squad would do no good for them. So this tag team match could be a much better booking for them.
The Boss ‘n Hug Connection will receive a significant booking in a PPV after a long time. Sasha Banks wanted to fight Ronda Rousey for a long time. Her wish could come true through this tag team match. Currently, this is just a rumour with no proper planning attached to it.
Shayna Baszler is still on NXT which is the biggest constraint of this match. Summerslam could have marked the beginning for her main roster stint. But that was not the case. She is still eyeing to regain the NXT women’s title. The match is only possible if somehow she can join Ronda Rousey on WWE Raw.
