Ronda Rousey will compete at the MITB PPV event on tonight. She will compete in the WWE Raw women’s championship match. It is quite incredible to think that she is getting the shot all of a sudden.
This is going to be her only second match in the WWE. It is a rare opportunity for the behemoth name of the mainstream world.
The speculations are pretty high about this upcoming bout. Ronda Rousey is such a heavy name that she is the favourite in any contest announced. Things are not different this time too. She is the front-runner to win the match and capture the women’s title from Nia Jax.
There’re some negative updates for her too. Ronda Rousey is yet to prove her wrestling skills in the WWE. She has not competed in a one-on-one televised match after signing a contract with the company. In fact, the MITB match is going to be the first such occasion for her.
So the current update is still not going in her favour. A report from cagesideseats.com focused lights on her upcoming schedule. It suggests that Ronda Rousey will not be part of the next PPV event in July. It will be the return of Extreme Rules event on the 17th of next month.
The venue has not included the former UFC Bantamweight Champion on the list. It does mean that Ronda Rousey will not be able to win the WWE Raw women’s championship at MITB PPV event. If she’d have been the title-holder, we would see a title defense at the next PPV event.
WWE already has a part-time champion on the WWE Raw roster. They will not want to put the title to another part-time player. If this happens, then both the men and women’s division champions will be former UFC names. But keeping two part-time champions will be an offence from WWE’s part.
It would be a right move strategically too. Giving the championship to Ronda in her first title match can turn out to be a wrong move.
Rather, inserting Stephanie McMahon and costing the title opportunity would be a good move for MITB. It can set up a bigger title opportunity for Ronda Rousey at Summerslam event.
