WWE Universe wanted to see a match between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch for so long. The WWE Raw women’s champion has become the standard bearer when it comes to delivering slobberknocker performances. On the other hand, The Man has taken her popularity to a whole new level from 2018 which has now become a no matchup. So no wonder this could produce a contest worth to remember for ages. After last night, it is almost finalized that we are witnessing the bout at Wrestlemania 35.
Becky Lynch won the 2019 women’s Royal Rumble match on Sunday night. This earned her the right to choose an opponent of her choice at Wrestlemania 35. Wasting no time, she appeared on WWE Raw even if she belongs to the Smackdown brand just to confront the women’s champion, Ronda Rousey. She immediately made her intentions clear about facing her at the biggest event of the year.
Following that segment, WWE.com confirmed Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey official for Wrestlemania 35,
“Will The Man hand Ronda her first-ever singles loss in WWE at WrestleMania 35? Or, will The Baddest Woman on The Planet add yet another incredible milestone to her already indelible legacy by defeating The Irish Lass Kicker? Find out when WrestleMania 35 streams live on the award-winning WWE Network at 7 ET/4 PT on Sunday, April 7!”
Ronda Rousey seemed confident about facing the most popular superstars of this era. She talked about her accomplishments in the MMA and the WWE while having the conversation with her future opponent. The segment on WWE Raw ended with Rousey boasting about how she will defeat the Irish Lass-kicker at Wrestlemania 35.
This bout was originally going to take place at this year’s Survivor Series PPV event. Becky Lynch was the Smackdown women’s champion back then setting up a match between the two title-holders. Nia Jax broke Lynch’s nose prior to the PPV event forcing her to get out of the event. A concussion did not allow to convert the dream match into reality.
But WWE kept the fans’ demand in mind through this time and crowned Becky Lynch as the Royal Rumble winner. This was just another way to make the match happen at this year’s Wrestlemania. With proper buildups, this could even turn out to be the main event match of the night.
