WWE has changed the tradition of hosting the big 4 PPVs after the brand extension WWE Draft, last year. All the cities which want to host the upcoming big 4 PPVs, have to bid early to host the event. Previously, cities had to place their bids only to host Wrestlemania.
But, since the Big Fours are nowadays arranged as dual brand PPVs, WWE is trying to give all of these a bigger makeover. Cities which get to host one big PPV such as Summerslam, Survivor Series or Royal Rumble also get the benefits of hosting fans not only all over the United States but also across the world. This also adds to the cities’ brand values, as well.
WWE’s executive Vice-president John Saboor said that there will be a string of promotional events and charity works during the 2018 weekend. He also mentioned the good relationship between WWE and the authorities of Philadelphia which led the Royal Rumble back to the city.
Over 17000 plus crowd saw a successful Royal Rumble event in the year 2015 at the same venue of Fargo Center. Roman Reigns was the one to win the Rumble event and go on to main event Wrestlemania 31. The history is all set to repeat, next year.
