Ronda Rousey and John Cena made a public appearance on behalf of the WWE, a few days back. They represented the company along with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at the Fox Upfronts from the Beacon Theater in New York City. Even Bella Twins, Big Show also attended the same show with letting the world know that Smackdown Live is moving to the Fox Sports Network on this upcoming fall.

Buzzing over the internet about the appearances were mostly on John Cena and Ronda Rousey who are marquee players. This actually led birth to the rumors that the latter name is moving to Smackdown Live from Monday Night Raw when she returns. This does not come as a surprise as Fox Sports wants more star power under Smackdown banner when they start to host the show.

Ronda Rousey To Become A Mother, Not Returning In WWE

Ronda Rousey has always been a familiar face for the Fox Sports department since she had the familiar territory in UFC. For a long time, this broadcasting network used to channelize the Mixed Martial Arts program. The ‘baddest woman on the planet’ has been major mainstream attention and hence it’s a no-brainer why Fox would want her back onboard on their platform.

However, reports suggest that it has nothing to do with the future appearances on Smackdown. WWE brought them for the media appearances just to ensure there’s the biggest star power available during Fox Upfronts. The Wrestling Observer (via Cagesideseats.com) stated that the wrestlers who showed up at the Upfront presentations weren’t indicative of anything beyond WWE wanting star power. So Ronda Rousey at the FOX Upfronts to promote SmackDown doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll be working that show. (via SportsKeeda.com)

Besides there’s the brand new rule implemented on WWE Raw and Smackdown from post-Wrestlemania onwards namely the Wild Card Rule. Using this one, any four superstars from the red brand can go to the blue brand and vice-versa, on a weekly basis. So the brand split does not mean much around WWE programming, these days.

So Ronda Rousey returning to Smackdown instead of WWE Raw is a baseless rumor, for now. She is not even thinking of coming back at this point as her sole focus is to become a mother, right now. If that is the case, then there’s no chance to see her on TV when Smackdown changes its home in October 2019. Currently, she is nursing a hand injury suffered at Wrestlemania 35 which also marked his last WWE appearance for a while.
