WWE likes to create ‘history’ with each of the ongoing PPV events. Women are the flag-bearer of this term for quite a few years.
Last year, during this span, female superstars created history. They competed in the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank, i.e. MITB ladder match. It was a benchmark spot for the women’s revolution.
However, it’s not that only women can create history by competing in gimmick-based matches. Even there’re more roads available for the male superstars to go through. WWE officials are coming up with new ideas, now and then. In recent times, these have happened for quite a few times for the male roster.
For examples, one such thing happened in the bygone Elimination Chamber PPV. For the first time, seven men competed inside it. In general, six men participated in this gimmick based match surrounded with steel structures. The tag teams made history at Hell in a Cell PPV, as well.
For the first time, two tag teams competed inside the unforgiving steel cage for the tag team championships. The same might have happened at the upcoming MITB PPV event, as well. We received updates on getting three MITB ladder matches instead of two.
The rumour mill suggested there’s a plan going on of hosting extra ladder match. The tag teams from both Raw and Smackdown will compete in it. The concept would have been the same for them, as well. The winning team would get a title shot, as per their choice.
But, if the current report is to go by from stillrealtous.com, the officials put an end to it. The tag teams did not get any suitable storylines in recent times for this gimmick match. So, it’s safe to say the tag team special MITB ladder match is not happening, this year.

“The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that with one member of The New Day joining the men’s ladder match, and tag teams no longer doing promos focused on Money in the Bank, WWE appears to have dropped the idea.”
WWE always pushes an idea of creating new matches. This match is out of the box, for now. But, we expect it to see it, next year, for sure. After all, pro-wrestling is all about ‘never say never.’
