It was in 2014 that Rusev and Lana arrived in the WWE. He was presented as the destructive force in the company with his female partner controlling him being the manager. For the major part of these two’s career, Lana has been portraying the valet role for him. Later, as we all know, these two were married and acted as a couple.
However, WWE officials changed the direction for them starting from this year. Rusev continued to perform as a singles competitor, whereas, Lana too picked up the nag of becoming a singles superstar which is why she got added to the women’s locker room. So, these two went to pursue their solo career in the WWE.
However, a recent announcement confirmed that they will be reuniting in the ring, once again. The WWE Mixed Match Challenge is coming up on Facebook starting from January 16th which will see many WWE male and female superstars teaming up and compete in it. The general managers from both WWE Raw and Smackdown are announcing teams on their roster.

So, while making such an announcement, Daniel Bryan confirmed the real-life couples would be competing as a team in this contest that will take place on Facebook. It is to be noted that this is for the first-time ever that these two will be competing on the same ring at the same time. Check out the confirmations from WWE.com,
“SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan dropped a bombshell when he revealed that Rusev will team up with his wife Lana in the unprecedented WWE Mixed Match Challenge tournament on Facebook Watch. For a married couple in love, there is a much higher chance that element will already be intact, raising the odds that the WWE Mixed Match Challenge will end up being transformed into Rusev Day!”
