WWE News: Ryback says he should face Goldberg, not Brock Lesnar 1

After months of speculation and anticipation, Goldberg is finally returning to WWE on Monday Night Raw. This will be after 12 long years that we are going to see him inside the squared circle. WWE Universe is chanting Goldberg’s name for months now and they are finally going to know, “who’s next?” when Goldberg returns this Monday. Next week’s show is scheduled to be hosted by the city of Denver, Colorado.

Now, we all know he will be addressing Brock Lesnar’s challenge to set up the match between them at the Survivor Series PPV. In the meantime, the former WWE superstar, Ryback who was a part of the company even during the beginning of this year, opened up saying that it should be him instead of Lesnar who should face Goldberg.

As we all know, that Ryback resembled the persona of Goldberg since the time he debuted. He was a reckless machine and reminded of the former champion in many ways. WWE fans chanted “Goldberg, Goldberg” during his matches and hence he even changed the in-ring attire to look like Goldberg. So, it is evident that he wants to face the original one, inside the squared circle.

Recently, Ryback gave an interview with Busted Open where he admitted that it should be him instead of Lesnar at this point. They had their match 13 years ago in Wrestlemania 20 and that is history. WWE should be thinking about the new era and this match is appropriate for that.

Here’re his comments (courtesy Busted Open) “I think it’s really cool that he, he’s going to be 50 years old, that he wants to come back and come back for his family and kids to see him in true time do his thing. Now, I will say, he knows, he said it himself, he’s going on 50 years old and he has been away from the game for quite a long time. And for me, for my own selfish reasons, that should be me and Goldberg. It shouldn’t be him and Brock. It has been there. They’ve done that 13 years ago. It’s 13 years have gone by. We’re in a different era now.”
