WWE News: Sasha Banks Losing the Title Delayed Asuka’s Main Roster Debut

The speculations around Asuka’s main roster debut is up on the rumour mill for a long time now. For years now, the championships on NXT changes hand, as to send the former title holder to the main roster. In the case of Asuka, that did not happen since she did not find an actual successor. Hence, the creative team allowed her to hold the championship for over 500 days.

However, it was thought that she would finally be called up on Raw following the Summerslam PPV. The indication of the same was given with Sasha Banks winning the Raw Women’s title at Summerslam. It happened at a time when the officials ended Alexa Bliss’ reign who was on the verge to break Charlotte Flair’s record of being the longest reigning Raw Women’s Champion.

Apparently, it was thought that Sasha winning the title would mark the end of her feud with Little Miss Bliss. The Boss would then build up a rivalry with the emerging Asuka who would receive the green signal to come on Raw and enter the title picture, right away.

However, The Empress of Tomorrow suffered a collarbone injury and was forced to vacate the title. The general concern is that this type of injury is not much serious so that a fighting champion like Asuka would have to relinquish the title. The creative wanted to get her sidelined for sometimes, and thus her main roster debut was delayed, as well.

According to the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the officials moved away from Asuka vs Sasha feud. They instead wanted to give a push to Nia Jax in the championship picture. So, the monstrous woman turned on her best friend, Alexa Bliss. Check out Bryan Alvarez’s words here (courtesy stillrealtous.com)

“As of a little while ago, they weren’t sure where Asuka was going, and the feeling was she was gonna go to Raw. I don’t think Asuka had anything to do with what happened on Monday with Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss. I think the plan now all along for months now the plan has to eventually go to the Alexa Bliss feud with Nia Jax and I think that’s what they did. They just got that going. Sasha was a happy finish for once.”

With that being said, it is quite clear we might not get to see Asuka debuting on Raw until the end of October. As per previous reports, she is likely to emerge around the TLC PPV.
