Smackdown men’s division failed to co-exist as seen on last week’s episode. Shane McMahon determined Daniel Bryan and The Miz as the co-captains of the team. This was perhaps the first indication that the chosen team would find it hard to go along. Shane McMahon himself became the third member whereas Rey Mysterio was the fourth.

Meanwhile, Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Hardy on Smackdown main event to capture the fifth spot. Daniel Bryan did not forget the ambush suffered by Joe from a week before. So he went right to attack Joe once the match was over. The Miz tried to stop the leader of the YES nation but received some shots. Even Shane McMahon ran to stop Daniel Bryan.

Becky Lynch out from Survivor Series

But he tossed the Smackdown commissioner in a bad manner teasing a heel turn. They needed to sort out the differences at the earliest before heading towards the Survivor Series PPV. But we did witness more chaos on last night’s show rather than a sort-out. Daniel Bryan was out of the team as informed by the general manager, Paige. The Miz will be the sole captain to lead Team Smackdown at Survivor Series.

The Miz also wanted to keep Rey Mysterio out of the Survivor Series Smackdown team. But he had to earn a win over the Master of 619 in order to do that. He failed to do as Rey escaped with a roll-up win to keep his position intact at the upcoming PPV.

This was definitely a precaution from the WWE creative head to save Daniel Bryan for a match against Brock Lesnar. He became the new WWE Champion later on the show too set up a classic match. Imagine the crowd reaction when this David vs. Goliath fight finally happens on this Sunday Night. Smackdown was able to choose a proper replacement for the current WWE Champion, as well.

Former WWE Champion and a Grand Slam winner, Jeff Hardy would be the final member from Team Blue. This means the five men representing the men’s Survivor Series will be The Miz, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, and Jeff Hardy. We also knew the lineups for traditional Survivor Series match featuring the tag teams.

The Usos will be the team captain as determined on last week’s Smackdown. The New Day was the automatic choice as the second team. Last night, The Usos chose three more teams to fill up the fray. These are SAnitY, The Colons, and Gallows-Anderson. They will square off in a chaotic affair against Raw tag division at the Survivor Series kick-off show.
