WWE News: Smackdown Storyline Likely Dropped from Programming 1

It was a few weeks ago, the idea of WWE coming up with a Top 10 list was surfaced.

It was done exclusively for the Smackdown roster only. Daniel Bryan was the one to introduce us to the list, each week that lasted hardly for three weeks and got vanquished from the show, going forward.

The working ethics of the SmackDown Top 10 List was supposed to act as a storyline device. Each one of the superstars from the SmackDown Live locker room would have to vote for one another, to determine the top guy on the roster. The one to get the most number of the votes would get declared as the number one.

The idea turned out to be a joke for most of the fans and the superstars, themselves who started giving negative reactions about it.

For the sake of their career, who would give the vote to another superstar apart from himself. I mean who’d not want to see his name topping the list in a created list, on his own.

Plus, the audience had the least interest in this list. They would definitely prefer to watch a segment from the Jericho’s list, instead which is why we are now being told, that the idea has been dropped from WWE TV. As reported by wrestlingnews.co, the Smackdown Top 10 list will never be aired, ever again. Check out the updates from the source,

“As noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the belief is that they are done with the top 10 list. The list was mentioned on one show, and then they did an angle where Roode was ranked over Orton, and it was brought up in a promo. Other than that, they haven’t talked about it on TV.”

This Top 10 list was only once used in a storyline angle for the United States Championship featuring Bobby Roode, Jinder Mahal, and Randy Orton. The latter one is the veteran superstar in the locker room and openly joked about the List on WWE TV. He could have cared the least about a ‘stupid list’ like this. So, Vince McMahon never felt this one is relevant enough for the Tuesday Nights.
