WWE News: Smackdown Superstar Made a Surprise Appearance on NXT Event 1

It’s not something new to witness the former NXT superstars who are now part of the main roster showing up on NXT events for a one-off occasion.

Being star powers in the developmental brand, they turned to be a huge surprise for the night to sell out the show. A similar thing happened during a house show of NXT where a current Smackdown superstar came in a surprising capacity.

The concerned name is none other than Tye Dillinger who came out to perform in a recent NXT show. The audience welcomed him to his home-brand with a thundering applause, as he featured in the opening contest of the night. The show was hosted in Rochester, New York where he locked horns against the NXT Superstar Kona Reeves.

Initially, the fans expected him to be there for putting over the newer guy in the NXT locker room. But, Tye picked up the pace, quite quickly to take control of the match. After that, he hit his opponent with Tye-breaker for the win in a quick time. So, he was there to have a trip to the memory lane and get some cheers from the fans.

Tye Dillinger debuted on the main roster following Wrestlemania 33 on Smackdown Live. But, he did not have a great time on the main roster, at all. Hence, this appearance on NXT and a quick win might be the refreshing thing that he needed the most, at this point. It would certainly boost his confidence for weeks to come.

Also, this might turn out to be quite useful considering that he will compete in a US title match against AJ Styles on this upcoming edition of Smackdown Live. The champion was quite impressed by the efforts that he put on against Baron Corbin, last week and hence got the match handed out to him.

Despite having a small momentum by his side, we can hardly expect him to win the US title from the face that runs the place on Smackdown Live. He will put up a great fight against The Phenomenal One, for sure. But, that will not be enough for him to earn his first singles title in the WWE, this early.
