It’s not something new to see the fans body-shaming WWE Divas. It is a regular thing for them to get unnecessary footages on the social media. But we certainly did not expect this from Dave Meltzer. We consider him as the best wrestling journalist available around there. He did not bother to react on Smackdown-star, Peyton Royce letting the Twiteratti go berserk on him.
Peyton Royce received a shocker courtesy of the journalist’s recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. He mentioned that the Australian lady used to be thinner during her NXT days. That might not have bothered the superstar much unless Dave Meltzer wanted to proceed further.
He mentioned that Peyton Royce looked much ‘lighter’ on the developmental territory. It might be the only reason that they received success during their NXT days. But she could not make an impact after arriving on the main roster. It’s worth to note Billie Kay, i.e. Peyton’s tag team partner was also part of the discussion.
One half of the IIconics came up with an emotional tweet that made the fans go outrageous. It had 25000 likes and 5000+ shares on it. Here are her comments,
“So what would you have me do Dave… starve myself? This is how nightmares for young women start. The females in your life must be proud.”

Fans gave her support all the way alongside the WWE superstars. Renee Young and Paige also expressed their views on these nasty comments from Dave Meltzer. He understood the misdeeds and issued an apology in public by saying,
“I’d like to apologize to you. You are an exceedingly attractive woman. I do realize the lengths and pressures on women in the entertainment world to maintain unnatural looks at times and am glad you pointed this out.”
It’s understandable that this apology was genuine. But the critics and fans pounced on Dave Meltzer to harm his image. Several WWE superstars also mocked her since then. Body-shaming is a big issue that creates a negative impact on people’s mind. The good thing about this controversy is that people can learn the same from fore-front.

Paige has been a victim of this issue in recent times apart from Peyton Royce. A fan had gone bad-mouth about her body trying to pie-face her at the Extreme Rules PPV.
She also digested several such comments on the social media from the beginning of this year. Hopefully, women superstars defending this issue would create some awareness among the fans. They should stop reacting badly on superstars’ bodies from now on.
