The course of the WWE Raw women’s division changed drastically with two NXT names debuting on the show under the wings of a former Divas Champion.
It was Paige who made her return to the flagship show. But, she was not alone and brought Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville alongside her. It formed a new group called the Absolution that is running things around the Raw female division, for now.
Paige returning to the WWE was up on the rumour mill for quite sometimes. But, we could not expect to see these two emerging NXT talents on the show. So, this garnered a huge attention from the crowd boosting up the ratings for the flagship show that was much needed. In case you have forgotten, Mandy Rose starred in the Total Divas show whereas Sonya Deville is an MMA performer, as well.
The latter one recently appeared in an interview with the ESPN to share her experience of her main roster debut. She asserted that the speculations of a potential call-up to the main roster was up at the backstage area for quite sometimes. But, WWE confirmed that just a few hours before Monday Night Raw started at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Check out her comments,
“As the days unfolded, you hear rumours, and you hear things flying around…You don’t wanna believe anything until it’s set in stone because it’s the entertainment industry at the end of the day and things change.”
“Come Monday, around 3:00, 3:30, I found out what I was doing (and) I think I’m still in disbelief; I don’t know if it’s really set in yet.”
Sonya Deville also continued saying the special thing about this debut on WWE Raw. She was very happy that her best-friend from the NXT roster, Mandy Rose was called up at the same time, too. They began training in NXT at the same time starting from WWE Tough Enough in 2015. Since then, she teamed up with Mandy as well as competed against her. So, Sonya admitted this call-up has been a roller-coaster ride and a life-changing experience for her, as well. Being a part of the Absolution, she is supposed to dominate the scene.
